Matthew Gonmah is a product of the Brighter Day Elementary and Secondary School in Soul Clinic, Paynesville, where he completed his secondary education. His academic journey has been marked by multiple awards.

In his final year of high school, he received the Second Overall Best Student Award. The achievement highlights his proficiency in both the sciences and humanities. Matthew while at the University of Liberia in 2017 pursued a Bachelor of Social Work and graduated as the top student in his class, achieving an outstanding cumulative grade point average of 3.64.

In continuing his quest for knowledge and interest in equality, social justice, service, and advocacy for all, Matthew is pursuing graduate studies in social work at Parul University in India, where he is working with non-governmental organizations championing the cause of local communities and vulnerable populations.

This significant accomplishment not only demonstrates his expertise in his social work but also marks the commencement of a career characterized by ongoing development and success. In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Matthew was honored with the Community Service Award as the outstanding international student in January 2024.

His skill set extends beyond the realism of social work. He is proficient in managing client relationships and well-versed in social work techniques, skills, and principles. Matthew brings a holistic approach to his professional endeavors. In pursuit of his love for continuing learning and advocacy, Matthew enrolled in a Diploma Program in Mental Health at Parul University in 2023.

Matthew worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Liberia, the state's premier university, before taking study leave in 2023. In this vital role, he oversees key functions such as teaching, offering seminars and tutorials, conducting research, and meeting students individually to discuss progress.

He plays a crucial role in steering the department's course schedule and teaching materials. Matthew is very passionate about making a positive change in the world. He aims to maximize the development of human potential and the fulfillment of human needs through an equal commitment to helping individuals, groups, families, and communities enhance their individual and collective well-being.
