Canvas Course Assessment Structure.

Each short course carries 100%. The assessment is done both on Canvas and zoom. On canvas, There are four aspects that are assessed. Lecture Notes, Discussions, Assignemnts and quizzes. each Aspect contributes 25% to your final mark. Canvas then automatically grades your final mark into A, B, C, etc.

The Discussions are always open ended questions which you are required to give an opinion about. Each candidate gives his or her opinion about the topic in Discussion. There is an option to reply to other candidates opinion and like or dislike the opinion.

Once you submit in your opinion, you can be able to see all other candidate’s discussion submissions and suplmement or complement to what one has submitted. Your lecturers as well chip in to the discussions and suplements or complements to what an individual candidate has written. This makes the discssion interractive.

The assignemts : These are take home question(s) which you are required to attempt and later submit to canvas for assesment and grading. The assignemnts are usually individual assignments with deadlines. The assignemnt questions are designed in a way to enable the candidate reflect on what is in the lecture notes. If the candidate is to submit any external answers, he or she is required to submit the reference for such answers. This is to enable the lecturers get a deeper understanding of the source of your answers.

Course Quizzes: Trainer international short course quizzes are a set of 10 to 25 questiosn in the formats of Multiple choice questions (MCQs) or True/False questions. These are usually time bound with about 4 to five optiosn for MCQs and two options for Tryue/False questions. The quiz is always at the end of each module. Each quiz is graded out of 25 points regardless of the number of the questions.

    Lecture Notes are assessed both on Canva and during the Lectures via zoom. On canvas, You are assessed by your ability to read the uploaded lecture notes; this is done with the Help of an artiffical intelligency feature on canavs.

    For the zoom lectures, your Lecturer or tutor will assss you by your ability to attend the lecture and your participation during the lecture.
