Charles Opendi is a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Laboratory Scientist, his thrilled to share his journey and experience with you. With a strong background in laboratory medicine, leadership, management, quality assurance, Immunology and molecular microbiology,  he is confident in his ability to excel in any setting.

His academic journey began with a Diploma in medical laboratory Technology from Jinja medical Laboratory training school, a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science from Mbarara University of science and Technology (MUST), where he honed his skills in general and molecular techniques. Charles then furthered obtained a post graduate diploma in health services management from the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU).

Charles is currently in his final year at Makerere University, Kampala for MSc. Molecular Immunology and clinical Microbiology. This combination of education and experience has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of laboratory practices, procedures and management.

Throughout the eight years of his career, he has demonstrated his expertise with clinical research organization, worked as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with Ministry of Health, Uganda, at Tororo General Hospital, IDRC, IDI, Marie Stopes, Abtassociate, where he was responsible for performing general and molecular techniques, including clinical chemistry, serology, hematology, parasitology, laboratory quality management and safety monitoring.

He has also worked as a COVID-19, Ebola surveillance officer, where he was responsible for monitoring and reporting cases, training and response in the district. In addition to his  technical skills, He is also highly trained in clinical trials, data management, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Bio risk management, 3D printing technology in medicine and a hub of innovation.

Charles is passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in his field and also focused on addressing pressing global challenges in line with United Nations Millennium development goals through research, partnership and innovation.

As a dedicated and hardworking individual, his confident in his ability to make a positive impact in any team. He is a quick learner, highly adaptable, and always eager to take on new challenges.
